March 13 – Chen Jining, Party secretary of Shanghai, met with Merlin Swire, chief executive officer of John Swire & Sons Limited and a member of the International Business Leaders' Advisory Council for the Mayor of Shanghai.

Chen encouraged the company to further expand its investment in Shanghai and take an active role in urban renewal projects, helping create new urban landmarks with greater global influence.

He also called for deeper cooperation in areas including the digital and green transformation of the shipping industry and the development of a diversified healthcare service system.

Swire said Shanghai's development has strengthened the group's confidence in its long-term development in the city. He added that the company will continue to increase investment in innovation and explore further cooperation in urban renewal, aviation services, and healthcare.
