1. What is the background and purpose of the forum?

The Hongqiao International Economic Forum (referred to as the Hongqiao Forum) focuses on promoting global openness and enhancing global economic governance. It addresses key topics in global open cooperation, providing a high-end platform for dialogue and exchange among international political, business, and academic circles. It offers recommendations for building an open world economy and fostering a community with a shared future for humanity. The Hongqiao Forum aims to match top international forums and has cooperation agreements with multiple international organizations, including the World Trade Organization, the United Nations Development Programme, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. Since its fourth edition, it has published the World Openness Report and the World Openness Index, becoming a global indicator for openness, a barometer for China's high-standard opening-up, and an authoritative brand for the Hongqiao Forum.

The Hongqiao Forum operates on a membership basis, currently comprising 34 member companies, including 18 diamond members, 14 platinum members, and 2 elite members. These member companies span various industries such as equipment manufacturing, electronic information, chip, energy, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, consumer goods, and finance.

2. What is the theme of the 7th HQF, and what are the main components and activities included in the forum?

Hongqiao International Economic Forum is held in tandem with the CIIE. Under the theme of "High-Standard Opening up for Universally Beneficial and Inclusive Economic Globalization", the 7th HQF features the main forum (the opening ceremony of the CIIE and HQF), and 19 parallel sessions under "1+4" sections, i.e. the Press Release and International Symposium on World Openness Report 2024 and parallel sessions under Opening-up for Development, Opening-up for Cooperation, Opening-up for Innovation and Opening-up for Sharing. Meanwhile, closed meetings, including roundtables for foreign-funded enterprises, and promotional activities related to "Invest in China" will be organized at the 7th HQF.
