The National Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest is a prestigious nationwide academic competition tailored for college students. Its competition themes are crafted to bear practical significance and real-world applications, encompassing both theoretical design and practical implementation. This comprehensive approach serves to evaluate and enrich the theoretical knowledge and innovative capabilities of the participating students.

Competition time: The contest occurs biennially, typically in September, spanning four days.

Format

The contest unfolds in both preliminary and final stages. The competition topics are uniformly proposed by an expert group commissioned by the National Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest Organizing Committee.

Preliminary contests are conducted by the organizing committees of the provincial undergraduate electronic design competitions in each province, autonomous region, and municipality, usually in late July of every even-numbered year.

The thematic contest finals focus on analog electronic system design. The expert group in analog electronic system design sets topics related to analog signal acquisition, processing, conversion, generation, and inverter technology. Participating teams are designated to use the specified competition platform (to be announced in subsequent implementation regulations) at a specified location and within a specified time, utilizing the relevant modules and devices provided at the competition site to complete their competition works. Teams independently design and complete an application system with specified functions (entries) for evaluation, in accordance with the requirements of the topics. During the finals, teams are not permitted to have any external communication.

Eligibility

In the preliminary round of the thematic contest, participating teams consist of full-time undergraduate or junior college students enrolled in higher education institutions within provinces and municipalities. Teams are formed voluntarily within the university, with three members per team, and are registered by their respective schools for the provincial-level university student electronic design competition. For the final round, participants must be full-time undergraduate students enrolled in higher education institutions. Each team comprises three students, and no more than two teams from a single school may compete in the final round.

Training

Before the competition, the thematic contest subgroup committee, in collaboration with the co-organizers, will arrange technical training for the designated competition platform. Participating schools can access the competition training website (https://www.nuedc-training.com.cn/) for pre-competition training. The competition subgroup committee invites teachers and students from all schools nationwide to participate, aiming to promote understanding and learning of analog electronic system design.
