A flash mob event with the theme "Tai Chi and Health" was recently held simultaneously in Shanghai and Paris, drawing participation from residents of both cities to celebrate the upcoming Spring Festival.

The performers donned dragon-patterned tai chi outfits and performed traditional Chinese martial arts at major landmarks in both cities, such as the Place du Louvre and La Tour Eiffel in Paris, France, and Yuyuan Garden in downtown Shanghai.

In Paris, the event attracted residents of all ages, the youngest being 12. Doctors from Pitie-Salpetriere Hospital, the largest hospital in Europe, also participated in the flash mob.

The main participants in the event in Shanghai were students from the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Yuyuan Garden, where a lantern show is also taking place.

The event, initiated by the Information Office of the Shanghai government, is a celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of China-France diplomatic relations.

It is also a prelude to the first season of a series of events in Paris titled "Flow: Starting from Shanghai - Global Dialogue on Humanity".

The first season will be held in mid-April and is themed "Our Water, to a Boundless Future". With a focus on ecological governance, urban renewal, humanity, arts, and social economy, the series of events are aimed at promoting mutual learning between Chinese and Western civilizations and the Sino-French relationship.
