HRH Princess Salote Pilolevu Tuita of Tonga visits Shanghai Ocean University
The Princess Royal, Her Royal Highness Princess Salote Pilolevu Tuita, who serves as patron of the Tonga-China Friendship Association and chairman of the Pacific-China Friendship Association, visited Shanghai Ocean University on Oct 14. She was warmly welcomed by the university's Party Secretary Wang Hongzhou and Vice-President Jiang Min.
Wang extended a warm welcome to the Princess Royal and her delegation. He offered an overview of the university's academic strengths and collaborative initiatives with Tonga and other Pacific Island nations. He emphasized the university's strategic goal to deepen cooperation with Tonga, particularly in talent development and scientific research.
The Princess Royal expressed her sincere gratitude for the warm reception and fruitful exchanges. She invited the university's leadership to visit Tonga for further exchange.
During her visit, the Princess Royal met with eight Tongan students at the university and toured the exhibition highlighting the accomplishments of the university's "Double First-Class" initiative, aimed at enhancing China's higher education and global competitiveness. Both parties agreed on future collaboration, setting a strong foundation for continued partnership.
