Call for papers: AI and language education forum set for October

The Forum on the Collaborative Innovation and Development of International Chinese Language Education and Artificial Intelligence is scheduled to take place from Oct 25 to 26, 2025, at Tongji University. The tagline of the forum is "Intelligent Transformation in International Chinese Language Education: New Scenarios, New Resources, New Pathways", and it aims to foster the deep integration of artificial intelligence and international Chinese language education, enhance global collaboration among researchers and practitioners, and explore new frontiers in this field driven by digital intelligence.

Date: Oct 25 to 26, 2025

Venue: Siping campus, Tongji University, Shanghai

Format and language: Keynote speeches, paper presentations, and panel discussions in Chinese or English

Forum theme:

The forum will revolve around the tagline "Intelligent Transformation in International Chinese Language Education: New Scenarios, New Resources, New Pathways". Discussions will cover the following key topics (including but not limited to):

1. AI-driven reconstruction and model iteration of international Chinese language education scenarios

2. Development and utilization of digital resources in international Chinese language education

3. Using generative AI to improve the international dissemination of Chinese culture

4. Cultivation of international Chinese language education professionals with high digital literacy in the new era

5. Paradigm shifts and explorations in research methodologies for international Chinese language education in the digital age

Paper submission guidelines:

1. Abstracts in Chinese or English are accepted, formatted in Word documents, and should be 300 to 500 words. Include the title, research background, methodology, content, main conclusions, and three to five keywords.

2. Papers must align with the conference's theme and topics.

3. Submissions must be original and unpublished.

4. Each author can submit only one abstract as the first author. If multiple abstracts are accepted, the author must select one and inform the organizers during registration.

5. Submit abstracts via email to iss@tongji.edu.cn. Other submission methods will not be accepted.

  • Email subject format: [Intelligent Transformation] Author's Name - Institution - Abstract Submission (e.g., [Intelligent Transformation] Zhang San - Tongji University - Abstract Submission).
  • Include the author's name, institution, mailing address, postal code, contact number, and email address in the email body.
  • Word document attachment naming format: Author's Name - Institution - Paper Title.

6. Important dates

  • Abstract submission deadline: May 1 (Beijing Time)
  • Abstract review results will be announced by June 1. The organizers reserve the right to make final decisions on abstracts.
  • Accepted authors must register by June 15 to confirm attendance.
  • Selected papers will be included in the conference proceedings. Full papers should be submitted to iss@tongji.edu.cn by Sept 1. Submitted papers should follow the manuscript format and submission guidelines of the journal The Communication of Chinese Culture.

1. There is no conference fee for this forum.
