The Business Partner Cities partnership, established by Osaka in 1988 to promote economic and trade cooperation among cities, held its 2024 roundtable meeting in Shanghai on Dec 5.

The meeting centered on fostering innovation and collaboration in the healthcare industry, bringing together representatives from member cities across the globe.

Headquartered at the International Trade Promotion Center, the BPC currently comprises 14 member cities, excluding Osaka: Hong Kong, Singapore, Melbourne, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Seoul, Jakarta, Ho Chi Minh City, Mumbai, Auckland, Hamburg, Shanghai, and Tianjin.

Shanghai officially joined the BPC in 1995.

The Business Partner City Roundtable 2024 was organized by the Osaka City Government, the Osaka Business Partner City Council, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, and the Jing'an District People's Government.

Delegates from Osaka, Hong Kong, Bangkok and other member cities participated in the event.

Speakers delivered insightful presentations on crucial topics, including innovative advancements in the healthcare sector, strategies for the international expansion of medical enterprises, and the importance of cooperation among BPC member cities.
