a) A passport or permanent residence permit (expats in border areas shall be handled in accordance with the relevant regulations on border trade settlement)

b) If it is difficult to accurately determine the identity of the applicant opening the account with valid identification, the bank may request the applicant to provide supporting documents – Proof of identity for overseas individuals may include but are not limited to expat and embassy/consulate staff ID cards, motor vehicle driver's licences, or ID cards with personal photos; tax payment certificates, utility payment slips, or other tax payment certificates.
