What is the procedure for bringing pets into China?

Upon entry into China, pet owners should declare the animal(s) to the on-site Customs and submit the official animal quarantine certificate from overseas, vaccination certificate and rabies antibody test report (for non-designated countries or regions) to complete the entry clearance procedures for pets. Customs officials will check the pet's microchip number and the aforementioned documents.

(1) If everything is in order and the pet passes the on-site quarantine inspection, it will be allowed to proceed.

(2) If quarantine is needed, the pet will be transferred to a designated quarantine facility for isolation and inspection. Once the quarantine period is complete and the pet passes inspection, it will be allowed to proceed.
