Basic facts
The Measures for the Administration of High-tech Enterprise Accreditation define "high-tech enterprises" as those registered in the Chinese mainland, excluding Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, which actively engage in state-supported high-tech sectors through continuous research and development (R&D) and the commercialization of technological innovations.
The following high-tech enterprise sectors meet the eight accreditation criteria, operate within the High-Tech Fields Supported by the State, and are eligible for accreditation: electronic information, biology and new medicines, aerospace, new materials, high-tech services, new energy and energy conservation, resources and the environment, advanced manufacturing and automation.
The application and accreditation process for high-tech enterprises in Shanghai is conducted on an annual basis, beginning in March and concluding on September 20.
