Putuo expands housing support for global talent
Shanghai's Putuo district is set to enhance housing support for talent by introducing more than 2,000 new units in 2025.
A recent symposium in Putuo gathered key research institutions and enterprises to discuss talent housing and services, including on-site visits of talent apartments and face-to-face discussions to better understand the housing needs of businesses and research institutions.
Putuo is drafting a new housing support policy for domestic and international talent. The policy aims to expand the coverage of eligible applicants, ensuring greater accessibility and inclusivity.
The policy is set to offer full rent subsidies for high-end professionals and outstanding international interns for a limited period. Graduates from leading global universities may also qualify for rental assistance. Additionally, it will integrate employment, entrepreneurship, career development, and lifestyle services into a comprehensive support system for talent.

To enhance living standards, Putuo will implement a star-rating evaluation system for talent apartments.
To date, Putuo has introduced 10,755 district-level talent housing units and designated 16 talent apartment complexes, reinforcing its commitment to attracting and retaining top talent.
