Double-decker sightseeing buses have been on the streets of Shanghai for years. Riding on the bus, feeling the wind in your hair, and admiring the views is a popular way for many to experience the city from a fresh perspective.

And as the birthplace of the Communist Party of China, Shanghai has an array of revolution relics. To give tourists a better understanding of the city's history, Shanghai-based travel company Spring Tour will launch a new double-decker bus sightseeing route that connects the city's revolutionary landmarks.

The route will bring tourists to the site where the first National Congress of the CPC was held, the People's Heroes Memorial Tower, and the May 30th Movement (1925) Memorial Monument.

It will also take visitors to the former sites of municipal government offices established after the People's Republic of China was founded, as well as three bridges that played distinct roles during the Chinese Civil War (1946-49).

The tour will adopt a "bus sightseeing + walking" format to give visitors a better tourism experience. Guides will also be made available to introduce the captivating stories of these historical landmarks to tourists.
