June 3 - Shanghai Party Secretary Chen Jining met with John Donahoe, CEO and president of Nike, and his delegation.

Chen commended Nike's active role in Shanghai's evolution as an international consumption center and a globally recognized sports city. He warmly invited the company to further enhance its investment and innovation efforts in the city, encouraging the introduction of more new products and technologies. Chen also underscored the significance of utilizing Nike's resources and brand strengths to foster more product launches, sports projects, and cultural exchanges in Shanghai.

Donahoe expressed Nike's commitment to deepening practical cooperation with Shanghai in areas such as innovation and research, green supply chains, and cultural exchanges. He mentioned that by leveraging the Nike Sport Research Lab in Shanghai, the company aims to develop and introduce more innovative and futuristic products to the city and the global market.

June 7- The main forum of the 2024 Shanghai International Carbon Neutrality Expo kicked off on June 7. Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng attended the conference and delivered a keynote speech.

In his address, Gong highlighted that Shanghai is committed to green development. He stated that the city is optimizing its industrial structure and increasing the proportion of green and low-carbon industries. Shanghai aims to support the rapid development of new energy vehicles, as well as to establish a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient energy system. Furthermore, Shanghai will continue its efforts to align with international rules and standards, and promote the enhancement of the national carbon emissions trading market.

The forum focused on critical topics such as the green transformation of energy and the construction of green and low-carbon supply chains. It showcased the latest practices in green innovation development and comprehensively explored the trends and advancements in the carbon neutrality technology sector.
