The Yanghang Sports Center located in Shanghai's Baoshan districtis set to commence trial operations in September.

The facility, spanning three floors and covering a total area of 22,000 square meters, is a comprehensive sporting complex boasting a range of amenities for football, basketball, badminton, tennis, swimming, and more.

Designed to cater to the diverse needs of its users, the center is at the forefront of innovation, incorporating a host of cutting-edge technologies to transform it into a digital sports venue. Among these advancements is the utilization of a digital twin cockpit, a technology previously employed at venues during the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou.

The digital twin cockpit leverages visualized models to convert venue data into immersive 3D representations, showcasing the center's digital capabilities such as AI sports imaging, smart lighting and energy management, and shared booking functionalities. This integration of technology promises an interactive user experience, revolutionizing the way sports facilities are utilized and managed.

In addition to the digital innovations, the center will feature an intelligent drowning prevention system for enhanced safety in its swimming pools, as well as intelligent basketball and tennis imaging systems to capture and analyze ball movements, providing users with valuable insights to enhance their performance.

Construction work on the sports center and its supporting facilities is currently underway, with the outdoor basketball courts and football field slated for trial operation in September. The indoor core venue and a 50-meter standardized swimming pool are expected to undergo further upgrades before targeted completion dates in November this year and March of next year, respectively.
