Xie Dong, female, Han ethnicity, was born in February 1971. She is a member of the China National Democratic Construction Association and holds master's degrees in literature and philosophy.

Duties

Xie Dong's responsibilities cover the following areas:

- Education;

- Civil, ethnic and religious affairs;

- Sports;

- Intellectual property rights;

- Overseas Chinese affairs;

- Culture and history.

She supervises several municipal government departments: 

- Commission of Education

- Bureau of Civil Affairs (Bureau of Social Organizations)

- Bureau of Ethnic and Religious Affairs

- Administration of Sports

- Intellectual Property Administration

She also maintains communication with the Municipal Disabled Persons' Federation.
