Hua Yuan, male, Han ethnicity, was born in May 1974. He is a member of the Communist Party of China and holds a master's degree in public administration.

Duties

Hua Yuan's responsibilities cover the following areas:

- Commerce, foreign investment, and foreign trade, as well as veteran affairs, and foreign affairs;

- Supervision and management of State-owned assets;

- Taiwan-related affairs;

- Work concerning women and children;

- Construction of the Hongqiao International Central Business District;

- Organization the China International Import Expo;

- Work concerning the people's armed forces.

He supervises several municipal government departments: 

- Commission of Commerce (Office for Port Services)

- Bureau of Veterans Affairs 

- Foreign Affairs Office (Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office) of the Municipal Government 

- State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission 

- Taiwan Affairs Office of the Municipal Government

He also maintains communication with the following municipal entities:

- Federation of Trade Unions

- Committee of the Communist Youth League of China

- Women's Federation

- Army (Armed police)
