Yuyuan Garden is creating an atmosphere of joy and festivity through light and shadow displays, performances, markets, and interactive activities.

From Sept 6 to Oct 7, the third edition of "Yuyuan Mid-Autumn Moon Journey" will be in full swing, highlighting the garden's unique beauty and role as the city's premiere cultural and tourism landmark.

The "Yuyuan Mid-Autumn Moon Journey", themed "Heart Full of Light, Life Without Flaws", takes place in the same mythological backdrop of Shan Hai Jing, also known as The Classic of Mountains and Seas, and draws from the Taoist philosophy of "great completion appears as imperfection". It aims to guide visitors through the philosophy of normalcy between perfection and imperfection through the metaphor of "full moon and crescent moon".

During the event, Yuyuan Garden Malls is illuminated by Mid-Autumn-themed light installations; the central square skillfully uses mirror reflections to present the scene of "a moon reflecting all water, and all water reflecting the moon"; the light installation at the Nine-bend Bridge has set up 12 full moons, allowing visitors to experience the glow of the full and crescent moons and reflect on the philosophy of "life has its moments of brilliance"; and Ninghui Road is recreating the spectacular scene of countless stars in the sky.

In addition to the rich light displays and performances, there are a variety of interactive activities, playful check-in devices, and numerous surprise mystery boxes waiting to be explored. Besides visiting the seven major scenic spots, the moon bathing ritual by the Nine-bend Bridge and high-tech building light shows are also worth seeing.
