Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store said Norwegians are now eligible for 15-day visa-free entry to China.

Norway has therefore become the first and only Nordic country to be granted the 15-day visa-free access to China.

Store made the announcement during his three-day visit to China from Sept 9 to 11.

"This is positive news for businessmen and travelers," said Store.

This new policy is expected to facilitate travel and strengthen ties between the two countries.

Norway is one of the first Western countries to recognize the People's Republic of China. Built on 70 years of friendship, Sino-Norwegian relations have become more resilient over recent years.

In November 2023, China included Norway as the 54th country in its 72/144-hour transit visa-free policy.

China has recently expanded its visa-free "circle of friends" with simplified visa procedures. The 15-day visa-free entry policy makes it easier than ever for overseas travelers to visit China.
