The Jiading Museum is not a museum in the traditional sense, but a museum complex that is a collection of three venues: the new Jiading Museum, the Jiading Confucius Temple, and the Jiading Fahua Pagoda.

Founded in 1959, Jiading Museum is a comprehensive museum that combines collections, preservation, research, exhibitions and education. With three locations, including the recently built central district museum spanning 6,705 square meters, it showcases the history and cultural heritage of Jiading.

The new Jiading Museum blends the beauty of classical Jiangnan gardens and modern architecture, making it a prominent landmark in the old city center.

Jiading Confucius Temple, established in 1219 during the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279), is one of the well-preserved county-level Confucius temples in China. The temple hosts the annual Shanghai Confucius Cultural Festival, a month-long event that aims to promote Confucian culture through a variety of activities.

Jiading Fahua Pagoda, built during the Song Dynasty (960-1279), has been a symbol of Jiading for over 800 years. The pagoda's courtyard houses exhibitions on the life of local celebrities including Gu Weijun, a prominent Chinese diplomat, and Hu Juewen, a renowned scholar.

Through light shows and scenic displays during important festivals, the pagoda continues to illuminate the rich heritage of Jiading.

These cultural landmarks actively promote the inheritance and learning of traditional Chinese culture among the local community.
