Discover the charm of Hongkou

The Seven Seas Explorer cruise ship brought over 720 overseas tourists to Hongkou district in Shanghai on Feb 25.
Some 34 of them were the first to experience the Realm of Time: Modern Shanghai Style Tour route created by the Hongkou district administration of culture and tourism, which featured a city stroll through 11 cultural and tourism landmarks from the Victory Theater to The Inlet lifestyle hub.
At Zhapu Road Film and Television Street, Kristine from the Philippines changed into a yellow qipao dress, while Leon of South Africa tried on a buttoned-up changshan, a type of traditional Chinese men's clothing known for its unique button design.

"It takes several minutes just to put the changshan on properly," said Leon as he fastened the buttons.
At Chun Fang Yuan Restaurant, Romanian tourist Gabriela savored Shanghai wontons and said: "This is the first time I've tasted something so delicious in China."
After a leisurely afternoon stroll to The Inlet lifestyle hub, she encountered a life-size Bruce Lee cardboard cutout and took a photo.
"This reminds me of the kung fu movies I watched when I was a child," said Gabriela.

"I will always remember this day. It's a pity that the cruise ship will leave tomorrow; time is too short," she said.
Gabriela and Leon both expressed their desire to come back again if they have the chance and further explore the Chinese metropolis.
