After more than a decade without new commercial developments, the Zhangjiang High-tech Industrial Development Zone in Shanghai is set to welcome a major new project in the form of the L City complex.

With a total floor space of 166,000 square meters, L City is strategically located within a 15-minute drive of over 480 large residential communities, 240 office parks and three universities — with a customer base of more than 1 million people.

L City's five zones are named after planets in the solar system: Saturn, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Mercury.

Each will cater to different consumer needs, including family-friendly activities, pet care, outdoor sports and dining experiences.

Moreover, L City has also partnered with well-known organizations in fields like science education, sports and pet care to offer a range of fun experiences.

The space will host events such as sports competitions, pet-friendly activities and family-oriented educational programs.

The Mars zone has already completed its leasing and opened, with brands like McDonald's, Kuddo Coffee and Fresh Market among the first to move in. These establishments are expected to cater to both office workers and residents in the surrounding areas — unveiling L City's journey to redefine urban living in Zhangjiang.
