Global students share insights at Panda Talk speech contest

The finals of the "Panda Talk: My Story with China" International Student Chinese Speech Contest were held at Tongji University in Shanghai on Oct 26.

The event offered a platform for international students to share their personal experiences and insights, presenting a comprehensive view of China to a global audience.

Since its launch on May 20, the competition has garnered widespread attention and enthusiastic participation from international students across China.

After the preliminary rounds, 17 participants from seven universities and 10 countries emerged from nearly 100 contestants to compete in the finals.

During the finals, contestants delivered speeches that showcased a wide array of talent and perspectives. Some demonstrated Chinese martial arts and some performed Peking Opera.

A Vietnamese contestant recounted her experiences in China's "QR code era", emphasizing the convenience and efficiency of Chinese technology. A participant from Madagascar shared his admiration for Chinese intangible cultural heritage, while a Malaysian contestant spoke about her perseverance and dedication in her academic journey in China.

The competition concluded with the awarding of one first prize, two second prizes, three third prizes, four individual accolades, and seven Excellence Awards. Tongji University, Chongqing Jiaotong University, and Guangxi University won Outstanding Organization Awards.
