The students also visited the Donghai No 1 Rescue Flying Service of the Ministry of Transport where they met Captain Song Yin, an alumna of Shanghai Maritime University and one of China's pioneering female search and rescue pilots. She introduced various types of helicopters and recounted a real-life rescue operation, highlighting challenges including adverse weather conditions and remote locations of distressed vessels.
