Shanghai International Studies University unites cultures at festive New Year gala
Shanghai International Studies University held a New Year gala on Dec 21, creating a festive atmosphere for international students.
The gala featured 26 performances by nearly 200 participants. The program included traditional and contemporary acts such as singing, dancing, instrumental performances, stage plays, Peking Opera, and musical dramas. Reflecting the rich cultural diversity at the school, the evening produced a delightful fusion of Chinese heritage and international customs.
In addition to the performances, the gala featured a raffle with prizes such as backpacks, Palace Museum souvenirs, and suitcases. The raffle saw 100 third prizes, 50 second prizes, and five first prizes awarded.
The gala concluded with a choir performance, as students and faculty gathered on stage for group photos, capturing the joy of bidding farewell to the old year and expressing their hopes for the year ahead.
