Pre-registration for the Shanghai Half Marathon started at 2 pm on Feb 20 and will close at 2 pm on Feb 24.

The event is scheduled to start at 7 am on April 20 (Sunday), with the starting point set at the Oriental Pearl Tower (Fenghe Road) and the finish line at the Oriental Sports Center (Yongyao Road).

The half marathon will accommodate 15,000 participants in total.

A drawing will be held for general registrations. Those selected can make payments from the announcement of results on March 5 until noon on March 9. Failure to pay by the deadline will result in registration forfeiture, and there will be no alternative means to secure a spot.

Direct entry for the Shanghai Half Marathon closes at noon on March 1 for registered athletes exempt from the drawing.

Registration for charity runners opened at 2 pm on Feb 20 on a first-come, first-served basis with 200 slots available.

The event also provides direct entry spots for the 2025 Shanghai Marathon to the top 200 male and top 100 female participants.

Regular entry: 160 yuan ($22)

Charity entry: 1,500 yuan
